I haven’t dropped a full TD collection since the end of 2024.
We still released pieces throughout 2025, but if you’ve been paying attention, it was drop after drop after drop. Every release was carefully chosen, styled and presented with the same thought we put into everything at TD. The difference was that those pieces weren’t all connected by one theme.
That’s really the difference between a drop and a collection.
A drop is a release of new arrivals. Every piece still has to meet the TD criteria of Dope Pieces for Dope Women, but the pieces don’t necessarily have to tell one story together.
A collection is more involved because everything is built around one idea. The pieces, colors, fabrics, styling and photography all have to make sense together. It’s the difference between releasing new clothes and building a full story around what we’re releasing.
Collections are also a real commitment. Bigger quantities, bigger budgets and bigger risks. You’re putting a lot behind one idea before you know how your customers are going to respond to it.
So, why has it been so long?
The simple answer is that 2025 moved incredibly fast for us as a brand. My time was wrapped up in running the studio, releasing new pieces, keeping the business moving and handling everything else happening behind the scenes.
A full collection requires me to slow down long enough to think through the entire thing. I have to decide what the story is, how the pieces fit into it, what the colors and fabrics should be and how I want to present it to you. That wasn’t something I wanted to force just so I could say we had released a collection.
We also eased into 2026 a little more quietly.
I was in the middle of planning a move, and that plan took a few turns that were definitely not included in the original itinerary. I’ll save the full story for another blog. Everybody loves a happy ending. Nobody needs the version where the main character is still surrounded by moving boxes lol.
Now the pieces, colors and fabrics have come together in a way that feels right for TD.
This collection will bring back some of our previous best sellers and customer favorites in new hues and different fabrics. You’ll recognize the pieces you loved, but you’ll get to see them in a new way.
