Unveiling The Mooi Collection: A (Micro) Interview with Terrell

In this candid conversation, Terrell shares the inspiration and vision that brought Mooi to life.

Q1: Can you tell us about the inspiration behind The Mooi Collection and what makes it unique compared to your previous collections?

[Terrell]: I usually just go with what I feel. Comfort and style are at the heart of the Mooi Collection. Each piece is curated to ensure women feel fashionable and at ease. Our puff pants, for example, offer unparalleled comfort while keeping you stylish. With updated hues and designs, this collection lets you feel your most feminine, beautiful and confident self. 

Q2: What challenges did you face during the design and production process of The Mooi Collection, and how did you overcome them?

[Terrell]: The biggest challenge was making sure the pieces hung together well and could be mixed and match. I believe I conquered this but we will find out once the pieces drop and how our customers respond. lol 

Q3: Can you share a bit about the creative process behind The Mooi Collection? Are there any specific designer or trends that influenced your work?

[Terrell]: No one designer influenced my work, specifically...but I did study what’s trending and what people will be wearing late summer and what will transition well to the fall. I chose colors and fabrication based on what was heavy on the runway and, most importantly, what I believe our customers will love. I understand that today's fashion world offers countless options. That's why I ensured the pieces from Mooi are unique and seamlessly pair with any other items they choose for their late summer and fall wardrobe. 

Q4: How do you want your customers to feel when they wear pieces from The Mooi Collection?

[Terrell]: Mooi means 'beautiful' in Dutch. Although I only speak New Orleans Vernacular English lol, my dad called me 'Moo' as a kid, so 'Mooi' felt perfect for this collection's name. Each day, I strive to feel and be surrounded by beauty, and I hope my customers experience this sentiment when they wear pieces from this collection.

Q5: What feedback or reactions are you hoping to receive from your customers with the release of The Mooi Collection?

[Terrell]: We hope to receive feedback that reflects our commitment to providing dope women with dope pieces. Positive reactions from our customers will be a testament to the hard work and passion that went into creating The Mooi Collection. Oh yeah, and I'm praying for a sold out collection too lol.
